Job title: Director of Finance Company: Georgia Eye Institute of the Southeast, LLC Job description: Job Summary: Oversight of all accounting and financial reporting, banking, financial business strategy and billing for all operating entities owned and operated by the shareholders of Georgia Eye Institute of the Southeast, LLC ophthalmic practice. Education and Experience: · Minimum 3 years of work experience plus college degree - preferably an MBA and/or CPA. · Managerial and accounting experience within health care industry, preferably in a private practice setting. Additional facility/ASC experience in beneficial. · Past employment in at least one of the following positions: Practice Administrator, Financial Controller, Practice Accountant, Director of Finance or CFO. · Previous experience reporting to a Board or Executive Committee. Essential Skills and Abilities: · Strong verbal and written communications skills. · Knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles, specifically in a medical industry setting. · Demonstrated experience preparing and managing budgets. · Computer literacy and fluency in accounting software such as Netsuite, Sage, etc. · Familiarity with professional corporations, productivity reporting, and general state/federal regulations impacting medical practices and small businesses (e.g., HIPAA, OSHA). · Ability to manage people in a collaborative environment to create a positive work culture and achieve company goals. · Ability to present complex materials in a manner that is easily understood. JOB FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES: · Provide executive leadership to ensure the business units achieve their financial objectives. · Ensures all business activity is conducted in line with company values, policies, and ethical codes of conduct. · As a member of the executive staff, provide leadership across the sites in all aspects of the business including short-term and longer-term goal deployment and achievement. · Develop tools and systems to provide critical financial and operational information to the Physician Board and make actionable recommendations on both strategy and operations. · Oversee all accounting and financial reporting functions including working with internal staff, external accountants, and/or billing and collections vendors. · Oversee and/or prepare timely financial reports and analyses. Provide ad-hoc analyses as necessary for decision making purposes. · Ensure that proper accounting controls are in place to mitigate risk of theft. This includes maintaining an inventory system for injectable drugs and retail items. · Develop appropriate staffing model, hiring, training, retention, and termination protocols in accordance with the management team for the overall organization and provide leadership and management in adherence to such models for areas that report directly to you. · Engage the board and managing partners around issues, trends, and changes in the operating model(s) and operational delivery. · Assist in establishing yearly objectives. Develop the annual operating and financial budgets for the main operating entities and provide actual to budget reporting monthly. · Work with ASC administrator director to ensure the center meets and maintains accreditation/credentialing requirements as well as state and CMS licensure/provider requirements. · Work with clinical management team to provide reporting and analytical support as needed and coordinate day to day operations. · Communicate with the Managing Partner and Finance Committee on a regular basis concerning all financial matters. · Act as a liaison between the Physician Board and outside advisors (e.g., external CPAs). · Oversee cash flow planning and ensure availability of funds as needed. · Develop and utilize predictive models and activity-based financial analyses to provide insight into the organization’s operations and business plans.
