About the position Responsibilities • Researching laws and preparing legal briefs, opinions, and memoranda • Rendering opinions on liability, damages, and value as requested by the Claims Department • Preparing and handling pleadings, motions, and discovery, including depositions/examinations before trial and examinations under oath • Defending by trial or dispositive hearing all matters assigned, as applicable Requirements • 2-6+ years of experience in related field REQUIRED • Juris Doctor degree REQUIRED • Admission to the Ohio Bar REQUIRED • Must be licensed in good standing to practice law in Ohio • Must meet and maintain licensing requirements including mandatory Continuing Legal Education (CLE) requirements • Ability to document files in a clear, concise, professional written manner • Ability to follow complex instructions and resolve conflicts • Strong organization, priority setting, and multi-tasking skills • Ability to learn and apply large amounts of technical and procedural information Nice-to-haves • Civil litigation experience • Insurance defense-related litigation experience • Ability to communicate in a professional manner in person, via telephone, and in written correspondence/email Benefits • Premier Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance with no waiting period • Paid Vacation, Sick and Parental Leave • 401(k) Plan • Tuition Reimbursement • Paid Training and Licensures Apply tot his job Apply To this Job
