Payroll Tax Assistant (Part-Time)
Responsibilities
Kforce has a client in Warrenton, VA that is seeking a Payroll Tax Assistant for a part time role. The Payroll Tax Assistant plays a key role in supporting the finance team by ensuring adherence to U.S. tax regulations and filing requirements. This position assists with the preparation and submission of various tax filings, maintains organized records, and supports internal and external audits. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, proactive, and has a foundational understanding of tax processes. Responsibilities and Duties
• Assist with the preparation and timely filing of tax returns, including sales and use tax, corporate income tax, and payroll-related taxes at both state and federal levels
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date tax documentation and records
• Support responses to tax authority inquiries and audits
• Monitor tax deadlines and ensure timely payments and submissions
• Conduct basic research on tax regulations to support compliance efforts
• Collaborate with internal departments to gather necessary data for tax reporting
• Assist in preparing documentation for audits and financial reviews
• Track and manage correspondence from tax authorities and regulatory agencies
• Provide general administrative support to the finance and accounting teams as needed
Requirements
• Basic knowledge of U.S. tax regulations (state and federal)
• Tax filing and documentation skills (sales/use tax, corporate income tax, payroll taxes)

The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.
We offer comprehensive benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance, HSA, FSA, 401(k), and life, disability & ADD insurance to eligible employees. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
