Pharmacy Technician-In-Training - Avera McKennan - Inpatient, and Outpatient
About the position
Responsibilities
• Assist in drug preparation, storage, distribution, and inventory management within various pharmacy environments.
• Participate in Avera Health's Pharmacy Technician Education Program, which includes 400 hours of combined didactic, simulation, and experiential learning activities.
• Communicate effectively with nursing staff, providers, patients, and co-workers.
• Engage in medication distribution to clinics and critical access hospitals, and repackaging medications into unit dose forms.
• Perform non-hazardous and hazardous sterile compounding as required.
Requirements
• High school diploma or GED required.
• Registration with the state Board of Pharmacy required within 30 days of employment.
• One to three months of related experience and/or training preferred.
Nice-to-haves
• Valid Pharmacy Technician Certification certification is a plus.
• Experience in a pharmacy setting is beneficial.
