Tax Winter Internship - Bethesda, MD
Tax Winter Interns at CohnReznick will prepare tax returns, support client deliverables, and collaborate with diverse teams in a hybrid work environment.
Your Role:
Key responsibilities include:
• Working closely with a team of Interns, Associates, Senior Associates, Managers, Senior Managers, and Partners.
• Preparing a variety of client deliverables, including individual, partnership, and corporate tax returns.
• Identifying potential tax issues and preparing tax adjusting entries and tax trial balances based on audited or client-provided trial balances.
• Assisting the team with daily client workflow.
• Becoming familiar with current tax theories and laws and performing procedures in accordance with firm standards, accurately and timely.
• Collaborating with professionals across industries such as Consumer & Industrial, Financial Sponsors & Financial Services, Life Sciences & Healthcare, Public Sector, Real Estate, Renewable Energy, Technology & Media, and Private Client Services (varies by office).
• Engaging with a Performance Coach for goal setting, feedback, and career guidance.
• Connecting with a CR Friend for support and onboarding.
About You:
The ideal candidate will have:
• Pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting.
• Plan to complete 150 credit hours between May 2026 - September 2027 to be CPA licensed.
• Minimum 3.0 GPA in both major and overall.
• Successful completion of two accounting courses prior to the internship start.
• Leadership experience in student organizations, extracurricular activities, and/or team projects.
• Prior work or internship experience is a plus.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work in a team environment.
• Ability to learn in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong computer literacy and proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
• Proof of work authorization (U.S. Citizenship or permanent residency); CohnReznick does not offer sponsorship for entry-level roles.
Compensation & Benefits:
• Salary for a Tax Winter Intern in Maryland is $34 per hour.
