Volunteer - Education & Mentorship Coordinator (Bilingual - Spanish)
Native Americans In Higher Education & Mentorship (NAHEM)
Preferences given to (Bilingual - Spanish) individuals based on needs of the organization.
Mission Statement: Providing an organization and free service program dedicated to increasing the Native presence in higher education while providing resources to promote unity and cooperation with an emphasis on mentoring while providing an atmosphere for the advancement of Native and Indigenous peoples.
Major Responsibilities:
• Be committed to the mission, goals and policies of the organization.
• Perform the functions and work of the board to the best of one’s ability
• Recommend others who could serve on the board or be of particular value to the organization in other capacities.
• Avoid any conflicts of interest and situations that would compromise the principles of the organization or lead to the perception of compromise.
• Prepare and edit documents; check and enter data; prepare and send mailings and packages.
• Be knowledgeable about the organization, the services it provides and the renal community in which it operations.
• Develop communication plans to measure success of the organization and tribes’ relationships
• Check and distribute documents and correspondence.
• Maintain regular communication with your region's tribal centers and be knowledgeable on the higher education programs and scholarship opportunities.
• Compile records of office activities and maintain a database system; update and maintain databases such as mailing lists and contact lists.
• Maintain a strong working knowledge of colleges and universities. Stay current on high education changes.
• Maintain constant communication with the Secondary Education/High School and Higher Education coordinators to share relevant information.
Length of Term:
We are asking directors to commit to a minimum of 1-2 years at a time. We want to move the organization forward and reach every corner of youth, therefore committing to 1-2 years at a time will allow for NAHEM to measure success accurately and efficiently.
Meetings and Time Commitment:
• The NAHEM the executive director you must commit 5 hours a week for meetings and work on behalf of NAHEM.
• Must check in/out using NAHEM workplace attendance bot.
• Check in weekly with updates via the NAHEM discord workplace.

Alongside reading and accepting the NAHEM Code of Conduct, NAHEM is expecting 100% committed souls to the goal of increasing Native and Indigenous presence in higher education. Upon signing this document, you are accepting the Code of Conduct, responsibilities, length of term, and time commitment.
