Workday & HR Systems Senior Engineer (REMOTE)
About the position
Responsibilities
• Lead projects involving major people technology and HR systems built to support GEICO's needs and strategy.
• Design, develop, and ensure the maintenance of scalable and reliable software solutions.
• Contribute to architectural decisions and provide insights into system improvements.
• Translate HR People Team business needs into technical requirements and actionable software solutions.
• Understand and implement secure design practices.
• Foster effective collaboration and communication across cross-functional teams to align priorities, share best practices, and ensure smooth coordination for incident response, system maintenance, and upgrades.
• Support the creation of the enterprise level technology roadmap for the Geico People Team and business demands.
Requirements
• Strong knowledge of HR systems, particularly Workday integrations and complex reporting.
• Fluency with at least one modern programming language such as Python, Java, or Go.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities with attention to detail.
• Experience developing and deploying applications in AWS or similar public cloud environments.
• Experience with learning and performance management systems.
• Understanding of security and compliance needs related to HR systems, including protection of PII and user access.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• Experience with enterprise-level documentation authoring and design.
