About the Role

We're seeking an experienced Full Stack Data Engineer to join our team and help us build one of the largest finance data platforms in the world. As a Data Engineer, you'll be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining large-scale data engineering solutions that support Amazon's finance business. You'll work closely with our team of engineers, data scientists, and business stakeholders to develop and deploy data-driven solutions that drive business growth and provide insights to our customers.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain large-scale data engineering solutions that support Amazon's finance business.
• Own the design, development, and security of ongoing metrics, reports, analyses, dashboards, etc. to drive key business decisions.
• Recognize and implement best practices in reporting and analytics: data integrity, test design, evaluation, validation, and documentation.
• Tune software and query performance using profiling tools and SQL.
• Analyze and resolve issues at their root, stepping back to identify the wider context.
• Learn and recognize a vast array of Amazon's data assets and understand when, how, and which to apply and which not to apply.
• Keep updated with advances in large data technology and run pilots to lay out the data structure to scale with the increased data extent using AWS.
• Continually enhance ongoing reporting and analytics processes, automating or simplifying self-service guides for datasets.
• Triage many viable courses of action in a high-ambiguity environment, using both quantitative evaluation and business judgment.

Requirements

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

• 3+ years of data engineering experience.
• Experience with data modeling, warehousing, and building ETL pipelines.
• Experience with SQL.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Experience with AWS technology like Redshift, S3, AWS Glue, EMR, Kinesis, Firehose, Lambda, and IAM roles and permissions.
• Experience with non-relational databases/data stores (item storage, report or key-value stores, graph databases, column-family databases).
