Job Summary

As a part-time remote Customer Service Representative and Data Entry Specialist at Walgreens, you will be responsible for performing information section and patient enrollment, handling customer inquiries, and working under direct oversight. You will utilize Walgreens' pharmacy systems to retrieve patient and medication information, and your duties may vary based on the assigned division.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Utilize Walgreens' prescription data entry methods and guidelines to process new patient enrollment by entering data into the appropriate system.
  • Handle patient prescription requests within HIPAA guidelines and enter refill orders for processing.
  • Investigate to obtain missing prescription information and interpret clinical abbreviations (SIG codes).
  • Resolve all data entry-related exceptions.
  • Handle correspondence to patients (inbound calls, chats, emails) and make outbound calls to prescribers and patients on a case-by-case basis.
  • Resolve Outsider Oddballs by researching, gathering information, making amendments, and resubmitting for processing according to individual arrangement requirements.
  • Provide support to Pharmacists, both those in the office and those at different locations.
  • Identify and communicate issues to senior-level staff as appropriate.
  • Obtain active expert licensure or certification within the initial 90 days and maintain an active licensure or certification.

Requirements

Essential Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree
  • Basic level of computer skills (e.g., turning on and off the computer, using a mouse to point and click, starting and closing programs, switching between programs, saving files, printing documents, and accessing data online)
  • Basic web browser skills, including opening a browser, typing in URLs in the correct location, using a search engine, bookmarking a webpage, navigating using back/forward/stop buttons, and completing forms online
  • Intermediate level of keyboarding skills (at least 25 WPM, typing by memory, arranging reports)
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal

Preferred Qualifications:

  • At least one year of pharmacy technician experience in a retail or call center environment
  • Experience providing customer service to internal and external customers, including meeting quality standards for services and assessment of customer satisfaction
  • Intermediate to advanced level of keyboarding skills (at least 35 WPM, typing by memory, arranging documents)
  • Familiarity with Spanish and English
