About the Role

As a Substitute Teacher with Scoot Education, you'll have the flexibility to choose your assignments and work on your own schedule. Our platform offers a range of opportunities in various educational settings, from elementary to high school, and across different subjects. Whether you're looking for day-to-day assignments or long-term placements, we've got you covered.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality instruction and support to students in the absence of their regular teacher
• Develop and implement lesson plans, adapting to the needs of the students and the classroom environment
• Manage classroom behavior, creating a positive and inclusive learning environment
• Communicate effectively with school staff, including teachers, administrators, and other support personnel
• Participate in 1:1 check-ins with your Scoot consultant to discuss school feedback and develop your skills
• Engage in ongoing training and professional development to enhance your teaching practices

Essential Qualifications

• Associate or Bachelor's degree, or 60+ college credits
• Three professional references, including one from a previous direct supervisor
• Background check (we'll cover the cost of this)
• A passion for education and putting students first
• An empathetic nature, a growth mindset, and a drive to be the best you can be

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous teaching or substitute teaching experience
• Special education or paraprofessional experience
• Certifications or training in specific subjects or areas, such as special education or English language learning
• Experience working with diverse student populations and communities
