Job Summary

The Pharmacy Tech Liaison - Specialty position at Stanford Health Care is a full-time role focused on assisting pharmacists in providing pharmaceutical services while ensuring compliance with State Board of Pharmacy regulations. The successful candidate will establish strong relationships with patients and clinicians, working closely within a clinic team to support patient care and medication management. This is a remote position, allowing for flexibility and work-life balance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Medication Preparation and Management: Prepares, packages, compounds, and labels non-sterile drug products for specific patients with appropriate final pharmacist checks.
  • Patient Care and Support: Assists pharmacists in advanced tasks associated with patient care, ensuring that patients receive the best possible support and care.
  • Collaboration with Clinicians: Works seamlessly alongside hospital clinicians to serve patients both face-to-face and over the phone, ensuring that patients receive comprehensive care.
  • Medication Adherence: Handles all medication needs of patients, ensuring adherence to medication regimens and securing refill prescriptions.
  • Communication and Coordination: Communicates effectively with the centralized Patient Service Center, ensuring that patient needs are met and that care is coordinated effectively.
  • Process Improvement: Helps develop new processes to ensure smooth operations and patient care, identifying opportunities for improvement and implementing changes.

Requirements

Essential Qualifications

  • Education: High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Experience: Three (3) years of progressively responsible and directly related work experience in a pharmacy or healthcare setting.
  • Adaptability: Ability to adapt to and deal with change and ambiguity, prioritizing tasks and managing multiple responsibilities.
  • Organizational Skills: Ability to plan, organize, prioritize, work independently, and meet deadlines.
  • Problem-Solving: Ability to solve problems and identify solutions, utilizing critical thinking and analytical skills.
  • Communication Skills: Strong interpersonal communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with patients, clinicians, and other stakeholders.
  • Regulatory Knowledge: Knowledge of local, state, and federal regulatory requirements related to pharmacy practice.
  • Medical Knowledge: Knowledge of medical terminology, pharmacology, and pharmacokinetics.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Specialized Knowledge: Knowledge of Hepatitis C, infectious disease, and/or oncology, with experience working in these areas.
  • Technical Skills: Experience with Microsoft Office Excel and Word, with the ability to utilize these tools effectively.
