About the Team and the Role

Our team is responsible for creating and maintaining a high bar for security across all of Amazon's products and services. We are a diverse and dynamic team, and we are looking for a talented and entrepreneurial Technical Program Manager to join our ranks. As a Senior Technical Program Manager, Identity and Access Management, you will be responsible for delivering IAM solutions that manage the global network of fulfillment centers, employ hundreds of thousands of people, and ensure that our customers get what they ordered in the condition promised by the agreed upon time.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the definition, design, and delivery of products and services to enable industry-best Identity and Access Management capabilities within Worldwide Operations.
  • Engage with and influence stakeholders to ensure that compliance, security, and cross-functional requirements are met or exceeded.
  • Design solutions for foundational IAM principles, including multi-factor authentication, least privilege access, password management, audit logging, certificate management, privileged access, and user behavior analytics.
  • Clearly communicate product vision, user stories, plans, and project status to management and key technical and business stakeholders.
  • Work closely with the software development and engineering team to deliver high-quality solutions and provide guidance on architecture, design, and priorities.
  • Develop monitoring and reports on the health, effectiveness, and efficiency of IAM services and products.
  • Engage with other teams across Amazon to evangelize the team and projects, build relationships, and identify existing technologies that may be complementary.
  • Identify, assess, and mitigate risks, provide escalation management, and make tradeoffs balancing business needs versus constraints.

Essential Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need to have a strong and diverse skillset in relevant areas, including:

  • 5+ years of technical product or program management experience.
  • 7+ years of working directly with engineering teams.
  • 5+ years of technical program management experience working directly with software engineering teams.
  • 5+ years of hands-on experience with at least one common identity protocol (Oauth, OIDC, SAML, or FIDO).

Preferred Qualifications

In addition to the essential qualifications, we are looking for candidates with:

  • 5+ years of project management disciplines, including scope, schedule, budget, quality, along with risk and critical path management experience.
  • Experience managing projects across cross-functional teams, building sustainable processes, and coordinating release schedules.
  • Experience defining KPIs/SLAs used to drive multi-million dollar businesses and reporting to senior leadership.
  • 5+ years of hands-on experience with identity best practices in the areas of identity lifecycle management, authentication, authorization, and privileged access management.

Compensation, Perks, and Benefits

At Amazon, we offer a competitive compensation package, including a base salary range of $133,900/year to $231,400/year, depending on the location and the candidate's experience and qualifications. In addition to the base salary, we offer a range of perks and benefits, including:
