Key Responsibilities
- Produce accurate transcripts of electronically-recorded judicial proceedings, ensuring timely and high-quality delivery
- Certify the correctness of transcripts prepared, adhering to established standards and guidelines
- Process transcript requests, engage in written correspondence with requestors, and respond to inquiries in a professional and courteous manner
- Maintain records and filing systems to facilitate storage and retrieval of transcripts prepared, ensuring confidentiality and security
- Perform administrative duties as assigned by the Court Administrator, demonstrating flexibility and adaptability
- Utilize computer programs, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and Adobe Acrobat, to efficiently complete tasks and meet deadlines
Essential Qualifications and Experience
- Graduation from high school or equivalent required; one year of court-related experience preferred
- One to two years of experience as a typist, with strong editing and punctuation skills, including knowledge of transcript preparation formats and requirements
- Proficiency in computer programs, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and Adobe Acrobat; ability to quickly learn new software applications
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with other employees
- Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions, with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail
Preferred Qualifications and Career Growth Opportunities
We are particularly interested in candidates who are currently enrolled in court reporting school or have completed court reporting school and are preparing for the court reporter examination. This position is designed to support your career growth and transition into an Official Reporter role.
