About the Heimann Cancer Center
The Heimann Cancer Center, opened in 2022, is a brand-new comprehensive cancer center equipped with cutting-edge technology. Our center offers a range of services, including advanced imaging, labs, top-of-the-line treatment, pharmacy, and expanded support services. Our goal is to provide seamless and accessible cancer care to our patients. The center features:
- Three treatment bunkers with two treatment machines and an empty large bunker for future expansion
- TrueBeam machine with High-definition MLCs (HD120 multileaf collimator) for precise dose sculpting and sparing surrounding tissue
- Radixact Machine, the latest generation of Tomotherapy platform, offering image-guided, intensity-modulated radiation therapy (IG-IMRT)
- Large Bore GE discovery scanner equipped with Metal Artifact Reduction (MAR) for enhanced imaging capabilities
Job Summary
As a Radiation Therapist at Asante, you will play a vital role in delivering accurate and precise radiation therapy to patients. You will work closely with Radiation Oncologists, nursing staff, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate patient care and treatment. Your responsibilities will include:
- Operating treatment machines, including linear accelerators and Tomotherapy units
- Acquiring patient data using CT scanners and building positioning devices
- Developing and maintaining a scientific understanding of radiation, its effects, and safe delivery methods
- Providing compassionate care and building supportive relationships with patients
- Collaborating with physics and engineering staff to problem-solve and report machine issues
Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you will need:
Education
- Thorough knowledge of theory, practices, procedures, and equipment used in radiation oncology
Experience
- Experience in CT highly preferred
Licensure/Certifications
- Licensed in Radiation Therapy by the Oregon Board of Medical Imaging (OBMI)
- Certification in Radiation Therapy (ARRT(T)) required upon start
- Basic Life Support for the Healthcare Provider (BLS) certified by the American Heart Association (AHA) required upon start
