Title: SDET/ Automation Engineer Location: Remote Target Start Date: ASAP Type: Contract Pay Rate: DOE Job Description: Automation Test Engineer We are seeking an experienced Automation Test Engineer with a strong background in API, UI, and microservices testing. The ideal candidate will be hands-on with automation frameworks, cloud environments, and CI/CD pipelines, with the ability to collaborate across global teams. Responsibilities • Design, develop, and maintain automated test frameworks for UI (Selenium, TestNG, WebDriver) and APIs (Rest Assured, ReadyAPI, SoapUI, Postman). • Perform REST API testing and automation using Swagger documentation for validation. • Automate tests across the full stack: UI, application layer, REST APIs, and web services. • Build SQL queries and validate databases through automation. • Contribute to and enhance enterprise test automation frameworks. • Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins, Bamboo, Maven, Git, and Docker. • Execute test planning, estimation, strategy, and defect tracking in JIRA. • Generate and communicate test results, document defects, and validate bug fixes. • Coordinate with US and offshore QA teams to ensure coverage and quality. • Apply critical thinking to translate complex business/application flows into test cases. Required Skills & Experience • Strong experience with Selenium, ReadyAPI, Rest Assured, SoapUI, Postman. • Proven background in microservices testing and REST/JSON APIs. • Hands-on with Java (preferred), JavaScript, SQL for automation scripting. • Proficiency in automation frameworks and tools: JUnit, TestNG, Appium, Cucumber (BDD with Gherkin). • Familiarity with Kafka topics and consumer validation. • CI/CD expertise with Jenkins, Bamboo, Docker, Maven, Git, Stash/Bitbucket. • Cloud knowledge with emphasis on AWS and cloud-based web application architectures. • Experience with Selenium Grid for cross-browser parallel test execution. • Knowledge of Extent Reports, Eclipse IDE, IntelliJ for automation reporting and development. • Strong understanding of concurrency, threading, algorithms, and data structures. • Frontend UI experience in HTML, CSS, JavaScript. • Strong analytical, debugging, and problem-solving skills; data-driven decision-making. • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities in Agile/Scrum environments.
