Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced French Horn player and educator to join our team as a Part-Time Lecturer in Music. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching the applied French Horn studio and may be assigned additional teaching responsibilities based on their qualifications and the needs of the department. This is a remote-based position with an immediate start available.

Key Responsibilities

  • Teach applied French Horn studio to undergraduate students
  • Develop and implement effective lesson plans and teaching strategies
  • Assess student progress and provide constructive feedback
  • Participate in departmental activities, including recitals, concerts, and auditions
  • Maintain a high level of musicianship and performance skills
  • Stay current with developments in music education and pedagogy
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the department chair

Essential Qualifications

  • MA or MM in Music required
  • Significant teaching and leadership skills
  • Demonstrated teaching proficiency in French Horn
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work effectively with students of diverse backgrounds and skill levels

Preferred Qualifications

  • DMA in Music or related field
  • Demonstrated capacity to teach effectively in the identified subject area
  • Experience with curriculum development and implementation
  • Strong performance and recording experience
