As a Statistician within Aetna, a CVS Health company, you will utilize strong analytical skills, business knowledge, and understanding of human behavior to support the team in activities related to pricing, reserving, data analysis, competitive intelligence, healthcare trend analysis, and tracking business results.
Key Responsibilities:
- Risk Evaluation: Understand the nature of specific risks and provide results of analysis to management.
- Rate Filing: Order and analyze filing data, then prepare and submit necessary exhibits for regulatory filings.
- Reserve Analysis: Analyze guarantee data and monitor reserve levels for suitability, demonstrating an understanding of actuarial reserving methods and issues.
- Planning and Forecasting: Provide technical support and analysis for planning, pricing, and reporting processes.
- Valuation, Trend, and Benefit Design: Develop and recommend pricing and trends for products or benefits.
- Technical Capabilities: Develop innovative technical solutions to various problems, demonstrating proficiency with spreadsheets and knowledge of database and online applications. Create and implement suitable tools and models, develop and settle business requirements and specifications for processes, tools, and systems.
- Hybrid Work Model: CVS Health follows a hybrid work model, providing office-based partners the ability to flex between working in the office and telecommuting based on the work you need to achieve.
- Relocation Assistance: Relocation assistance will be provided for candidates that need to move more than 50 miles.
- Work Visa Sponsorship: Work visa sponsorship is available for this role, including participation in Curricular Practical Training (CPT), Optional Practical Training (OPT), and F-1 Visa programs.
Essential Qualifications:
- Educational Requirements: Meet the educational requirements as specified.
- Willingness to Relocate: Have a willingness to relocate to a designated Actuarial center.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Actuarial Experience: Internship or work experience supporting actuarial functions of an organization or business unit.
- Leadership Experience: Demonstrated leadership experience, such as active roles in student or community organizations, or sports.
- Communication Skills: Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Analytical Skills: Solid analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Technical Skills: Experience with scientific or coding software, such as SAS, Python, Excel, VBA, SQL, or R.
- Adaptability: Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and comply with tight deadlines.
- Teamwork: Supportive and positive attitude to improve team effectiveness.
- Agility: Be adaptable and able to quickly and effectively adjust to change.
