Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Director of Operations to lead our Network Operations Control (NOC) Training and Standards team. As a key member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for providing strategic direction, oversight, and guidance to ensure the highest level of operational performance and compliance with regulatory requirements. Key Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership and oversight to the Dispatch and Alliance Planning and Standards teams, ensuring alignment with company goals and objectives.
  • Collaborate with NOC Division Leaders to develop and implement planning and standards initiatives that drive operational efficiency and excellence.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with internal stakeholders to ensure seamless communication and coordination of NOC planning and standards activities.
  • Ensure compliance with Federal Aviation Regulations, Association policies, and Collective Bargaining Agreements (CBAs).
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive vision for planning, leadership, and standards within the NOC department.
  • Foster a culture of safety, quality, and continuous improvement, promoting a positive and inclusive work environment.
  • Provide guidance, coaching, and development opportunities for direct reports, promoting growth and career advancement.
  • Serve as a liaison between the NOC and other working groups, ensuring effective communication and collaboration.
  • Attend industry conferences and meetings as required, representing Southwest Airlines and promoting our interests.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management.

Requirements and Qualifications

Essential Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; optional college affiliation or GED preferred.
  • Significant experience in a leadership role, preferably in a similar industry.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of FAA regulations, aviation industry standards, and Collective Bargaining Agreements.
  • Proven experience in planning, leadership, and standards development.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and analytical skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • FAA Pilot's Certification or equivalent military experience.
  • Experience working in a joint environment with multiple stakeholders.
  • Knowledge of NOC divisional policies, procedures, and systems.
  • Experience with business and management systems, including HR, safety, and quality management.
