Job Overview

As a Customer Service Representative at Family Dollar, you will play a vital role in ensuring that our customers have an exceptional shopping experience. Your primary responsibilities will include greeting customers, assisting them with selecting merchandise, completing transactions, and answering questions about our store and products. Key Responsibilities:

  • Accurately handle customer funds and process transactions using the POS system, providing a seamless and efficient checkout experience for our customers.

Essential Qualifications:

  • Prefer completion of high school or equivalent, demonstrating your commitment to education and personal development.
  • Ability to follow directives and interpret retail operational documents as assigned, showing your ability to learn and adapt to new information.
  • Prefer experience working in retail, hotel, restaurant, grocery, or drug store environments, providing you with a solid understanding of customer service principles and practices.
  • Physical ability to regularly lift up to 40lbs. (and occasionally, up to 55 lbs.) from floor level to above shoulder height, as well as meet the demands of frequent walking, standing, stooping, kneeling, climbing, pushing, pulling, and repetitive lifting, with or without reasonable accommodation.
  • Availability to work a flexible, full-time schedule, including days, evenings, weekends, and holidays, demonstrating your flexibility and commitment to our customers and our business.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous experience in a customer-facing role, providing you with a strong foundation in customer service skills and principles.
  • Basic math skills, including the ability to count money and make change, ensuring that you can accurately process transactions and handle customer funds.
