Job Summary

This role requires advanced knowledge of customs regulations, import/export operations, and compliance procedures. As a Customs Brokerage Representative III, you will be responsible for preparing and processing customs entries, coordinating with government agencies, and ensuring compliance with all relevant laws and regulations. You will also be responsible for building and maintaining relationships with clients, carriers, and other stakeholders to facilitate the smooth movement of goods.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and process customs entries, including classification of goods according to the Harmonized Tariff Schedules (HTS) and participation in government agencies clearances (PGA), Code of Regulations, and Customs regulations.
  • Coordinate with international and domestic carriers, overseas offices, and importers to facilitate the movement of goods.
  • Communicate documentation discrepancies to clients and supervisors, and resolve issues in a timely and effective manner.
  • Follow up on clearance process for all entries prepared, and ensure that all entries are processed in accordance with relevant laws and regulations.
  • Scan entries into the imaging system, meeting allotted and sensitive time requirements.
  • Prepare reports, presentations, and analysis using various software packages and databases.
  • Establish and maintain client relationships, and provide excellent customer service.
  • Work on a weekend schedule on a department rotation basis, and participate in holiday scheduling as required.

Requirements and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need to have:

  • A high school diploma, GED, or international equivalent.
  • A minimum of 2 years' experience working for a customs broker or in a related field.
  • Basic knowledge of customs operations, laws, and regulations, as well as other government departments.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with clients, carriers, and other stakeholders.
  • Accurate and rapid data entry skills, with attention to detail and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Customers Broker License (preferred).
