About the position Responsibilities • Process an accurate bi-weekly payroll using the Paychex system. • Provide support to managers by entering missed punches, leaves of absence, or other payroll entries. • Post positions and review resumes to identify qualified candidates for open positions. • Conduct initial phone screenings to assess candidates qualifications and fit. • Respond to state inquiries regarding unemployment and attend hearings when needed. • Assist with leave of absence administration when needed. • Work with managers and employees to resolve minor employee relations issues. • Address and resolve employee inquiries and concerns regarding HR policies, procedures, and benefits. • Conduct exit interviews with employees who leave the company. • Assist with administration of benefits programs by answering employee questions and ensuring benefit elections are correct in the system. • Assist with HR projects such as policy updates and training initiatives. • Assist with maintaining personnel files. Requirements • Bachelor's degree in business, psychology, or related field. • Minimum of five years experience in a full scope of HR functions such as employee relations, payroll, recruiting, and benefits. • Excellent verbal and written communication skills. • Ability to effectively convey information and interact with employees at all levels. • Strong relationship-building skills. • Ability to handle sensitive situations with empathy and professionalism. • Strong multitasking and time-management skills. • Attention to detail. • Understanding of HR principles, practices, and labor laws in a multi-state setting.
