About the Role: ABA / Autism Therapist

As an ABA / Autism Therapist with Key Autism Services, you'll play a vital role in implementing Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) therapy and counseling programs for children on the autism spectrum. Our comprehensive training program is designed to equip you with the skills and knowledge necessary to excel in this field, making it an ideal opportunity for both experienced professionals and entry-level candidates.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide one-on-one (1:1) in-home ABA therapy to children with autism, fostering a supportive and engaging environment.
  • Collect behavior and skill acquisition data during sessions, ensuring accurate tracking of client progress.
  • Conduct discrete trials, implement behavior support, and treatment plans under the guidance of a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) Supervisor.
  • Collaborate with your BCBA Supervisor to implement basic principles and teaching procedures of ABA therapy, promoting effective treatment strategies.
  • Respond to the needs and requests of clients, their families, and supervisors, demonstrating exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Maintain a professional and goal-oriented approach in all aspects of your work, ensuring high-quality service delivery.
  • Arrive on time and be prepared for therapy sessions, adhering to scheduled appointments and demonstrating reliability.

Essential Qualifications:

  • High School diploma or GED.
  • A minimum of 1 year of experience working with children in a 1:1 setting.
  • 1 year of ABA experience or equivalent (e.g., Special Education Assistant, Paraprofessional, Direct Support Professional, Medical Assistant, Autism Experience, Teacher's Assistant, or ABA Tutor).
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Reliable transportation with a valid driver's license and clean driving record.
  • Auto insurance to travel between clients.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience using a Cognitive Behavior Intervention Plan with youth and families.
  • Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) Certification or willingness to obtain.
  • Previous experience working with individuals with autism or related conditions.

Physical Requirements:

As a Behavior Technician, you'll be required to:

  • Lift up to 35lbs.
  • Perform activities that entail fine and gross motor skills, bend, kneel, squat, sit on floor level or in a chair, or stand for periods.
  • Respond quickly in short distances (100 feet) to the movements and behaviors of children.
  • Work in both indoor and outdoor settings.
