Key Responsibilities
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records, complete reports, and handle other routine assignments in a punctual and efficient manner
- Attend staff meetings, in-service training sessions, and curriculum development meetings to stay current with best practices and district initiatives
- Differentiate instruction to meet the diverse needs of students, enhancing pupil performance and providing individualized support
- Establish and maintain high standards of pupil behavior, creating an orderly, productive, and respectful school and classroom environment
- Guide the learning process towards the achievement of curriculum goals and objectives, aligning with the district's philosophy of education
- Assess student progress on a regular basis, providing constructive feedback and progress reports to parents and guardians
- Administer standardized testing in accordance with district policy and applicable law, as directed by the building Principal or Central Office administration
- Refer students with behavioral, physical, or learning disabilities to district specialists, seeking support and resources as needed
- Communicate effectively with school personnel, colleagues, parents, and students regarding pupil instructional needs and progress
- Achieve and maintain proficiency in district computer programs and applications, utilizing technology to support instruction and student learning
- Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the building administrator or Central Office administration
Essential Qualifications
- Full certification as a Physical Education and Health Teacher, according to the requirements set forth by the Department of Education of the State of New Jersey
- Bachelor's degree in Physical Education, Health Education, or a related field
- Proven experience in teaching Physical Education and Health, with a strong track record of student achievement and growth
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills
- Ability to work effectively with students, parents, and colleagues from diverse backgrounds and cultures
- Strong knowledge of curriculum design, instructional strategies, and assessment techniques
