Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Math Teacher/Tutor to join our team in Lakewood. As a Mathnasium Math Instructor, you will be responsible for teaching students in grades K-12, assisting with homework completion, and providing individualized support to help students achieve their math goals. Key Responsibilities

• Teach students in grades K-12 using Mathnasium's customized learning plans and curriculum
• Assist students with homework completion and provide individualized support to help them understand and apply math concepts
• Develop and maintain a positive and supportive learning environment that fosters growth, creativity, and academic excellence
• Communicate effectively with students, parents, and colleagues to ensure that students receive the support they need to succeed
• Participate in ongoing training and professional development to stay up-to-date with Mathnasium's curriculum, teaching strategies, and best practices
• Work collaboratively with other instructors and staff members to ensure that students receive a comprehensive and well-rounded educational experience

Requirements and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need to possess the following qualifications and skills:

• Math proficiency up to Algebra is required, with proficiency through Geometry and Calculus preferred
• Exceptional score on Mathnasium's Math Literacy exam (material from 2nd grade and up)
• Availability for at least 2 weekday shifts, with a minimum of 3-4 hours per shift
• Clear record on a state and national background check
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with students, parents, and colleagues
• Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple responsibilities
• A passion for math and a commitment to providing exceptional educational experiences for students of all ages and skill levels

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working with students in grades K-12, either in a teaching or tutoring capacity
• Familiarity with Mathnasium's curriculum and teaching strategies, or a willingness to learn and adapt to our approach
• A degree in mathematics, education, or a related field, with a strong academic record and a passion for learning
• Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to think creatively and develop innovative solutions to complex problems
• A strong commitment to ongoing learning and professional development, with a desire to stay up-to-date with the latest developments in mathematics and education
