We're seeking an exceptional Impact Director to join our team in Columbia, SC, and help drive our efforts to improve educational outcomes for students in Richland One and Lexington Four School Districts.
About City Year and the Impact Director Role
City Year is a national organization with a strong presence in Columbia, SC. Our Long-Term Impact Plan is designed to create a continuum of care for students, providing them with the support they need to thrive from elementary school through high school. As an Impact Director, you'll play a critical role in overseeing the implementation of our Whole School, Whole Child (WSWC) model, supervising Impact Managers and AmeriCorps members, and driving our efforts to improve student outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
- Leadership and Management: Supervise and support Impact Managers and AmeriCorps members to ensure the successful execution of our service model.
- Collaboration and Partnership: Work closely with the Impact Team, including Learning & Development, Data Analytics, and Impact Coaching, to advance our model and drive student outcomes.
- Coaching and Mentoring: Provide coaching, mentoring, and inspiration to staff and AmeriCorps members to help them achieve their full potential.
- Culture and Community: Foster a culture of idealism, high expectations, and beloved community within the Impact Department.
- Data-Driven Decision Making: Develop, analyze, and articulate clear metrics for organizational success, and implement evaluation mechanisms to drive continuous improvement.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Build relationships with critical stakeholders, including school administration and staff, to advance our work and drive educational equity.
- Program Management: Ensure compliance with National and Community Service guidelines and expectations, and collaborate with administrative support teams on special projects and events.
Essential Qualifications and Skills
To succeed as an Impact Director at City Year, you'll need:
- Leadership Experience: Previous experience leading, coaching, or managing others, with a proven track record of success.
- Ability to Relate to Young People: Experience working with 17-24 year olds, and a passion for empowering young people as agents of social change.
- Strong Communication Skills: Excellent presentation, adult training, and customer service skills, with the ability to communicate effectively across the organization.
- Strategic Thinking and Decision Making: Demonstrated ability to think strategically, make sound judgments, and drive results-driven solutions.
- Education and Experience: Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience, with coaching experience strongly preferred.
