Are you a talented product manager with a passion for data and a drive to make a significant impact? We offer a flexible, hybrid remote arrangement for this position, allowing you to work from the comfort of your own home. As a Product Manager, Content Data at Netflix, you will play a critical role in shaping the future of our content and business products. With a compensation package starting at $34/hour, this is an opportunity you won't want to miss.

About Netflix

Netflix is the world's leading online entertainment service, with over 230 million paid subscriptions in over 190 countries. We offer a wide variety of series, documentaries, and feature films across a range of genres and languages. As our library of original content and licensed content continues to grow, we need to scale the technology solutions we use to manage content and operational data to meet the changing needs of the business.

The Role

The Content and Business Products team builds a suite of tools to scale the operations behind taking a Netflix show from concept to streaming. We are looking for a product manager to lead the development of our Content Data Platform. In this role, you'll lead a cross-functional team to deliver application and data services, along with end-client functionality to improve how we manage and connect core data across our content pipeline. Our systems are used extensively by internal employees, content creators, and partners, so experience working with enterprise applications is a plus. This is a data-centered role, so a strong working knowledge of data models and data management practices is essential.

Key Responsibilities

  • Define and execute a comprehensive product strategy for the Data Platform that supports our content and business products, ensuring the availability of accurate, reliable, and well-represented core data.
  • Translate the strategy into a product roadmap that aligns with the needs of our partner groups and prioritizes what is most valuable for our data clients and the business.
  • Lead the definition, design, and operationalization of technology solutions focused on improving data quality, metadata management, taxonomy management, ontology definition, and data policy implementation.
  • Manage products from concept to launch, delivering features iteratively to solve business challenges.
  • Build strong relationships with Netflix data clients and product teams, establishing consistent feedback loops to better understand their concerns.
  • Develop a deep understanding of upstream/downstream systems and processes and how they should shape data model design and impact adjacent systems.
  • Ensure that our product development thoughtfully addresses product lifecycle and adoption/migration experience and provides clear guidance and recommendations to Netflix data clients.
  • Engage and thrive in a healthy discussion of ideas and communicate your vision and strategy comprehensively throughout the organization.
  • Define how we will measure the success and effectiveness of our products and drive the execution and constant evaluation of those metrics.

Requirements

Essential Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
  • Proven track record of successfully managing B2B2C or B2B technical products throughout the product development lifecycle.
  • Demonstrated passion for data platforms, data experience, tools, workflows, as well as data governance.
  • Ability to effectively prioritize and articulate your product roadmap across business functions and geographies.
  • Comfortable working with uncertainty. This role is fluid, and will frequently evolve based on partner, strategy, and product needs.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills, both written and verbal, whether in small group discussions, large-scale presentations, or with executives.
  • Ability to motivate, propel, and lead teams of creators, engineers, and colleagues.
  • Comfortable applying a combination of qualitative and quantitative methods to define success.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working with enterprise applications.
  • Strong working knowledge of data models and data management practices.
  • Familiarity with data governance and data quality best practices.
