Purpose of the Role: Medical Billing Customer Experience Trainer / Quality Assurance Specialist
We're seeking a highly skilled and experienced Medical Billing Customer Experience Trainer and Quality Assurance Specialist to join our team at blithequark. As a Denial Management, Pre-Reg, Auth, and PFCC Specialist, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the smooth operation of our medical billing department, focusing on end-to-end Revenue Cycle Management (RCM) to secure pending payments.
This role involves managing accounts, liaising with insurance companies, reconciling accounts, filing corrected claims, appealing denials, and ensuring timely reprocessing and payment. The ideal candidate will exhibit professionalism, trustworthiness, and excellent communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to work independently in a 100% work-from-home environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Monitor the quality of transactions at regular intervals to ensure high standards are maintained.
- Develop, oversee, and report on quality control measures to continuously improve processes.
- Deliver structured curriculum in live and virtual learning environments to both groups and individuals, ensuring effective knowledge transfer.
- Provide one-on-one coaching for ongoing performance improvements through targeted refresher and remediation training.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of process and role-specific job aids to support the effective application of curriculum.
- Assess new hires' performance by monitoring, evaluating, and reporting training outcomes to local managers and the central leadership team.
- Liaise with supervisors and other leaders to identify areas where additional one-on-one support is required to address performance issues.
- Continuously improve training content and programs in response to changes in patient care delivery, state/federal regulations, and accreditation/licensing standards.
Essential Qualifications and Skills:
- A graduate or undergraduate degree with a minimum of 3+ years of experience in denial management/AR collection, pre-reg, auth for US healthcare processes. Experience with EPIC software is preferred.
- In-depth knowledge of EPIC software and its applications in healthcare.
- Thorough understanding of denial management, pre-reg, auth, and PFCC processes.
- Familiarity with common healthcare industry terminology, practices, and procedures related to billing and reimbursement.
- General knowledge of how government and commercial payers reimburse healthcare services.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills, with the ability to negotiate effectively.
- Proficiency in using Windows-based computer systems and Microsoft Suite applications (Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.).
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, maintaining high levels of ethics and a professional demeanor.
- Strong multitasking capabilities, with the ability to establish and meet deadlines.
- Accurate typing/data entry skills at a minimum of 40 wpm.
