INFECTION PREVENTIONIST (FULL TIME, DAYS)
About the position
Responsibilities
• Serve as a key member of the Infection Prevention Committees
• Provide clinical consultation
• Collaborate with leadership, faculty, and staff in the development and implementation of care standards, policies, guidelines, and protocols
• Provide educational opportunities such as new protocol education, specialty-specific education, and skills reinforcement education
• Perform surveillance for hospital-associated infections
• Conduct infection control risk assessments for construction-related activities
• Conduct outbreak investigations as needed
Requirements
• Bachelor's degree in Public Health, Healthcare, Epidemiology, Nursing, or other related degree or equivalent education and experience
• Four years of relevant clinical healthcare experience; Registered Nurses must have acute care hospital experience (inpatient, ICU, or emergency medicine)
• Applicants who are not Infection Preventionists must have 2 years experience leading and educating teams (program management)
• Certified in Infection Control or will become certified within three years
• Working knowledge and experience with database management systems
