Blithequark, a leader in the entertainment and media industry, is seeking an experienced Lead Data Engineer to join our Information and Investigation group for Blithequark Web-based features (DSS), a section under the Blithequark Diversion and ESPN Innovation (DE&ET). Key Responsibilities

• Contribute to the design and development of data products and data warehouses around commitment and maintenance analytics and data science
• Design and develop scalable data warehousing solutions, building ETL pipelines in large data environments (cloud, on-prem, hybrid)
• Help engineer data solutions/structures and define data models for the core data warehouse and data shops
• Collaborate with data product managers, data modelers, and data architects to design, implement, and deliver successful data solutions
• Maintain detailed documentation of your work and changes to support data quality and data governance
• Ensure high operational efficiency and quality of your solutions to meet SLAs and support obligations to our clients (Data Science, Data Analytics teams)
• Be an active participant and contributor to agile/scrum practices to ensure safety and process improvements for your team

Essential Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field
• Strong SQL skills and ability to write queries to extract data and build performant datasets
• Hands-on experience with distributed systems like Hadoop (HDFS, Hive, Voila, PySpark) to query and process data
• Strong programming skills in Python, Java/Scala
• Experience with at least one major MPP or cloud database technology (Snowflake, Redshift, BigQuery)
• Strong experience with data integration toolsets (i.e., Windstream) and writing and maintaining data pipelines
• Solid understanding of data modeling techniques and data warehousing standard methods and practices
• Familiarity with Scrum and Agile methodologies

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with cloud technologies like AWS (S3, EMR, EC2)
• Knowledge of data science and analytics tools and technologies
• Experience working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with multiple stakeholders
• Strong problem-solving skills with attention to detail and excellent analytical and interpersonal skills
