Position Summary: Delivering Personalized Instruction and Support
As a Remote Secondary Special Education Teacher, you'll play a critical role in delivering personalized instruction and support to special education students. Your primary focus will be on providing one-on-one support to students and parents through various communication channels, including chat, email, text messages, and telephone calls. You'll also provide personalized feedback to students through grading assignments and recording video feedback. Additionally, you may be required to supplement our system curriculum by developing and delivering live and recorded lessons in collaboration with your supervisor.
Key Responsibilities: Instruction, Support, and Community Engagement
- Serve all stakeholders with integrity, humility, and joy, consistently modeling the importance of task competency and relationships.
- Effectively support special education students by implementing lesson plans, delivering engaging lessons, and ensuring student learning of established curriculum using company tools.
- Evaluate student needs and prior written history to determine and help implement appropriate accommodations.
- Ensure individualized education plans are properly documented and implemented.
- Maintain a courteous and positive demeanor in every interaction when responding to inquiries from students, guardians, and colleagues.
- Provide ongoing monitoring of student progress, intervening as needed to address gaps and deliver remediation.
- Collaborate with peers and administrators in a professional, positive, and student-focused manner.
- Participate in company events, activities, and meetings with a positive attitude.
- Provide essential proctoring services during periods of student testing, including traveling to testing locations and facilitating the test.
- Maintain a strong and supportive company culture by supporting company recruitment, retention, and community outreach goals.
Essential Qualifications: Education, Experience, and Skills
To be considered for this role, you must meet the following essential qualifications:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education.
- Current Special Education Teaching License.
- Teacher certification.
- At least three (3) years of experience teaching special education.
- Extensive experience writing and implementing IEPs and holding IEP meetings.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the demonstrated ability to lead and serve others with humility, kindness, empathy, and joy.
- Ability to establish rapport, gain commitment, and convey challenging concepts to learners using various technological tools and tactics.
- Verifiably skilled in engaging unresponsive, struggling students.
- Demonstrated ability to take initiative, work independently, collaborate with others, and effectively build relationships with students, families, and colleagues.
- Able to quickly learn, use, and adapt new technology and systems.
- Able to travel to physically proctor student assessments.
- Demonstrated professional oral and written communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications: Enhancing Your Application
While not required, the following qualifications can enhance your application:
- At least two (2) years of online teaching experience.
- At least one (1) year of experience learning or working online.
- Ability to obtain teaching certification in Arizona, Colorado, and Washington.

As a Remote Secondary Special Education Teacher, you'll enjoy a competitive salary range of $50,000 to $65,000 per year, along with a $1,500 signing bonus. Our comprehensive benefits package includes:

As a remote employee, you'll enjoy the flexibility and autonomy to work from anywhere, at any time, as long as you're available during our core hours. We're a Monday-to-Friday organization, and we expect our employees to be available during regular business hours (8:30 am - 5:30 pm Mountain Time).
