About the Role: Full Stack Software Engineer
We're seeking an experienced Full Stack Software Engineer to join our Technology Crew Training Team. As a key member of this team, you'll play a critical role in developing and implementing software solutions that support our TRIO and OQS Record-Keeping programs. These programs are essential for our Pilots and Flight Instructors, enabling them to coordinate and track pilot & trainer popularity and their ongoing education needs. You'll have the opportunity to work with cutting-edge technologies, including cloud services (AWS), React/JS, and the Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe).
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, test, document, and implement functionally appropriate, technically sound, and well-integrated software structures according to customer requirements, organizational methodologies, and standards.
- Drive the technical route and function roadmap of large-scale cloud structures, serving as a technical lead contributing to and directing the efforts of development teams.
- Evaluate code to ensure that it's valid, well-structured, meets business standards, and is compatible with browsers, devices, or operating systems.
- Mentor Software Engineers to enable skill/knowledge development through advice, coaching, and education opportunities.
- Update job knowledge by analyzing the latest development tools, programming techniques, and computing equipment; participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; participating in professional organizations.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product managers, customers, and other stakeholders to drive the definition of function requirements.
- Investigate options and new technologies to support continuous development.
- Prepare and install solutions by determining and designing system specifications, standards, and programming.
Requirements and Qualifications:
Essential Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Business, Engineering, Computer Science, or Information Systems, or associated field; or equal formal education.
- Advanced experience in designing, writing software code, testing, documenting, and implementing functionally appropriate, technically sound, and well-integrated software structures.
- Advanced understanding of software development methodologies, practices, concepts, and technology received through formal education and/or work experience.
- Excellent partnering, communication, negotiation capabilities, and execution in working with diverse Technology or associate Teams.
- Ability to articulate (verbally / visually) thoughts, approach, concepts, options, risk, impact, and gives guidance to technical, non-technical, and Leadership audiences.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Foundational understanding of Git, CI Pipelines, Linux CLI, Containers, EKS/Kubernetes, and/or AWS Infrastructure.
- Experience building complete stack internet programs with the use of Typescript/React and Java/Spring Boot.
- Experience / strong recommended for automatically testing using Cypress, JUnit, Mockito, or similar.
- Experience mentoring/guiding team members' learning, including the creation of new ideas and technology.
- Experience working with Agile methodologies, ideally Scrum or Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe).
