Overall Purpose:

The Sales Associate is the touchpoint for our consumer base. The role includes tasks such as helping customers find and buy merchandise, managing the cash register, replenishing merchandise, ensuring merchandise recovery, maintaining store cleanliness, and carrying out other duties allocated by the Store Manager. The ultimate objective is to elevate store profitability and customer contentment while safeguarding company resources. 

Key Responsibilities and Essential Role Functions: 

- Deliver superior customer service, welcome and aid customers.
- Manage cash register and scanner to itemize and total customer purchases, collect payments, give change, bag purchases, and proactively assist customers with merchandise.
- Adhere to company standards for merchandise management; unpack, store, restock, rotate merchandise on the shelf, and create merchandise displays.
- Ensure store cleanliness, discard trash, dust and mop store floors, clean restroom and receiving room, and aid in setting up sidewalk displays.

Prerequisites:
Knowledge Base and Skills:

- Proficiency in interpersonal and verbal communication.
- Familiarity with safety protocols and practices. 
- Ability to interpret and adhere to planograms and guidelines for merchandise presentation.
- Awareness of primary cash handling procedures.
- Basic mathematical competence.
- Ability to execute cash register operations.
- Familiarity with stocking merchandise.

Work Background and/or Academic Qualifications:

A high school diploma or its equivalent is beneficial.

Work Environment:

- Regular walking and standing.
- Regular bending, stooping, and kneeling for run check out stations, stocking merchandise, and unloading trucks; this may also necessitate pushing and/or pulling roll-containers for stocking merchandise.
- Regular handling of merchandise and equipment such as handheld scanners, pricing guns, box cutters, merchandise containers, two-wheel dollies, U-boats (six-wheel carts), and roll-containers.
- Proper lifting of up to 40 pounds; occasional lifting of up to 55 pounds.
- Occasional climbing (using step ladder) up to heights of six feet.
- High-paced work setting; moderate noise level.
- Intermittent exposure to outside weather conditions.
