Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced Project Manager to join our team, with a focus on transmission, substation, and distribution projects. As a Project Manager, you will have the opportunity to manage the execution of multiple projects, coordinating with internal and external departments to ensure seamless project delivery. Key Responsibilities

As a Project Manager, your primary responsibilities will include:

  • Managing project execution, contract administration, planning, and resource management to ensure timely and within-budget delivery.
  • Taking ownership of all aspects of project performance, including safety, schedule, budget, reporting, and client experience throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Leading and directing project teams, mentoring and coaching team members to ensure accountability and high-performance standards.
  • Developing and maintaining positive working relationships with client functional leads and stakeholders to ensure effective communication and collaboration.
  • Identifying and controlling construction risk, recognizing, identifying, tracking, and controlling change to minimize potential impacts on project timelines and budgets.
  • Preparing reports that present project information in a clear and concise manner, meeting client requirements and expectations.
  • Analyzing issues and providing solutions to improve results, driving continuous improvement and excellence in project delivery.

Qualifications and Experience

To be considered for this role, you should possess:

  • A BS degree from an ABET-accredited engineering program or a management/business degree.
  • 7+ years of specific experience in Project Management of Utility Transmission, Distribution, or Substation Projects.
  • Proven experience managing multi-disciplinary teams, with a strong track record of delivering projects on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.
  • 10+ years of experience in the electric utility industry, with a deep understanding of engineering, construction, planning, and related aspects.
  • Experience serving as a firm/client liaison in a support or lead role, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to multitask and manage multiple competing priorities, with a strong focus on detail and organization.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex information in a clear and concise manner.

Valued but Not Required Skills and Experience

While not essential, the following skills and experience are highly valued:

  • Engineering design experience, with a strong understanding of transmission, substation, and distribution systems.
  • PMP Certification, demonstrating a commitment to project management excellence and best practices.
  • Construction and start-up experience, with a deep understanding of the practical aspects of project delivery.
