About the Role

As a Quality Assurance Technician, you will play a critical role in our quality testing processes, ensuring that our ingredients and finished products meet the highest standards of quality and safety. This is a 100% remote position, providing you with the flexibility and autonomy to manage your work environment effectively. Key Responsibilities

  • Perform collection, documentation, and destruction of samples, along with physical, chemical, and microbiological testing of finished products and raw materials to ensure compliance with standard operating procedures.
  • Communicate effectively and thoroughly to management and peers on test results or inspection findings outside of specifications, ensuring prompt action and resolution.
  • Conduct environmental sampling and analysis to monitor facility sanitation, adhering to all federal, state, and company policies and procedures.
  • Maintain accurate, complete, and legible records, including proper amendment, identification, and filing, as well as conducting clerical duties such as copying, filing, faxing, data entry, and document reproduction.
  • Safely handle and use chemicals, biological agents, and waste, including potentially hazardous materials, and maintain material safety data sheets.
  • Perform routine maintenance tasks on process equipment and monthly audits on various areas under laboratory control, ensuring compliance with company, federal, and state requirements.
  • Utilize software including word processing, spreadsheets, and inventory control systems to efficiently manage data and processes.
  • Set up and calibrate test equipment, and monitor all quality checks made by production to ensure consistency and adherence to quality standards.
  • Keep accurate QA reports daily and operate and perform quality tests on the treated water system, contributing to the overall quality assurance of our products.

Essential Qualifications and Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A high school diploma, GED equivalent, Associate degree, or technical college degree, providing a solid foundation in basic sciences and mathematics.
  • 1+ years of experience in quality testing or a manufacturing environment, preferred, although we are open to training the right candidate with a strong aptitude for learning and growth.
  • The ability to maintain a strong level of confidentiality, as all formulas are confidential and require utmost discretion.
  • Solid math skills, basic reading, and writing skills, enabling you to interpret data, follow instructions, and communicate effectively.
  • Successful completion of the Aon (behavioral/personality test) assessment test, which helps us understand your strengths and fit within our team.
  • Demonstrated capability of learning or using basic lab equipment such as Refractometer, pH meter, Auto titrator, Density Meter, Turbidity Meter, with a willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies and processes.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work efficiently under stressful situations, prioritizing tasks and managing time effectively.
  • Compliance with all Safety, Environmental, Security, and Good Manufacturing Practice policies, ensuring a safe and healthy work environment for yourself and your colleagues.
  • Microsoft Office experience, particularly in Word, Excel, and Outlook, facilitating effective communication and data management.
  • Ability to read equipment operations manuals and visually identify and recognize material, part, and product defects, contributing to our quality control processes.
  • Participation in job development training, demonstrating your commitment to continuous learning and professional growth.
  • Ability to work in a team environment, collaborating with colleagues to achieve common goals and objectives.

Preferred Qualifications

While not required, the following qualifications are preferred and will be considered an asset:

  • Previous experience in a QA or laboratory setting, particularly in the food or beverage industry, providing valuable insights and expertise.
  • Certifications or specialized training in quality assurance, laboratory techniques, or a related field, enhancing your credibility and competence.
  • Experience with statistical process control and lean manufacturing principles, contributing to our efforts in continuous improvement and efficiency.
