Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Quality Assurance Technician to join our team. As a Quality Assurance Technician, you will be responsible for assisting the Quality Assurance Supervisor in overseeing the operation of our laboratory and blending/batching personnel. Your primary focus will be on ensuring the safety of our people, workplace, and environment, while also meeting all company, legal, and other requirements. You will be required to work on various shifts, including first, second, and third shifts, and will undergo a comprehensive two-week training program on each shift.

Key Responsibilities

  • Facilitate scheduling functions in both the laboratory and blending departments
  • Conduct weekly micro plating and reading for subject areas
  • Assure the integrity of all laboratory testing, product quality, and syrup batching
  • Conduct package quality inspections and quality audits to ensure that processes are effective, efficient, and compliant
  • Serve as the primary trainer for QA and other departments regarding quality issues
  • Receive and test CO2 and all raw materials prior to the production process
  • Maintain the highest possible housekeeping standards to prevent microbial contamination
  • Facilitate GMP/Food Safety programs
  • Ensure that all concentrate, beverage bases, and HFCS are ordered for production
  • Ensure that all laboratory supplies and personal protective equipment are adequate and available as needed
  • Understand all laboratory, water treatment, and syrup room sanitation duties
  • Ensure that all reporting is accurate and on time
  • Support management system efforts, such as document control, audits, records, and continual improvement

Essential Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • Bachelor's degree in a science-related field preferred
  • 1-3 years of prior production/manufacturing experience or 2+ years of relevant lab technician experience
  • Food/beverage industry experience is a plus
  • Demonstrated attention to detail and accuracy
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Ability to read, write, and keep records
  • Good computer skills, including literacy with Excel and Word
  • Familiarity with lab safety and handling of hazardous materials
  • Must have the ability to repetitively lift, pull, and push 50+ pounds, reach above head height, stand, walk, kneel, bend, and reach

  • Experience with laboratory testing and quality control procedures
  • Knowledge of GMP/Food Safety regulations and guidelines
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Flexibility to work on various shifts, including weekends and holidays
