Job Summary
We're seeking a seasoned Senior Manager Pricing to lead the development of custom pricing proposals for large, strategic accounts with potential total contract values of $100M+. As a Senior Manager Pricing, you'll be responsible for analyzing complex financial data, performing in-depth financial modeling and risk analysis, and establishing price points that align with business objectives. You'll also serve as Verizon's lead negotiator and decision-maker on assigned deals, influencing and negotiating contracts with internal and external stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
- Analyze, recommend, approve, and negotiate custom pricing proposals for standard solutions across an assigned set of large, strategic accounts
- Perform in-depth financial modeling and risk analysis to establish price points that ensure margins are aligned with business objectives
- Evaluate and analyze profitability, competition, market nuances, and account strategy to inform pricing decisions
- Ensure all costs to support the deal are accurately captured and properly reflected in the financial model
- Act as Verizon's lead negotiator and decision-maker on assigned deals, influencing and negotiating contracts with internal and external stakeholders
- Prepare and present detailed financial briefings for internal teams and executive management
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve processes and ensure compliance with company guidelines
Financial and Business Acumen
As a Senior Manager Pricing, you'll need to possess advanced financial analysis and business acumen skills. This includes:
- Performing detailed business case analysis and creating pricing evaluation models
- Evaluating and analyzing profitability, competition, market nuances, and account strategy
- Understanding the operation of underlying cost models and modifying financial models as required
- Ensuring DLM and EMR deliverables are completed in accordance with process guidelines
Negotiation and Communication
Effective negotiation and communication skills are critical to success in this role. You'll need to:
- Act as Verizon's lead negotiator and decision-maker on assigned deals
- Influence or negotiate contracts with internal and external stakeholders
- Prepare and present detailed financial briefings for internal teams and executive management
- Effectively communicate pricing and custom terms and conditions to internal stakeholders and customers
Collaboration and Compliance
As a Senior Manager Pricing, you'll work closely with key stakeholders to ensure compliance and accuracy. This includes:
- Collaborating with cross-functional teams to improve processes and ensure compliance
- Maintaining accuracy of deal financials in Smartsheets
- Ensuring adherence with EMR and CPS103 processes and obligations
- Complying with CPE NDP, Capital, and other guidelines as appropriate
Requirements and Qualifications
To be considered for this role, you'll need:
- Bachelor's degree or four or more years of work experience
- Six or more years of financial analysis, pricing, and/or equivalent experience
- Experience with contract negotiations, pricing, and purchasing
- Advanced expertise in resolving diverse and complex problems
- Demonstrated leadership and negotiation skills
- Superior communication skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in a related field like Business, Finance, or Economics
- Master's degree – ideally an MBA
- Advanced analytical skills
- Expertise in Excel and financial modeling
