Remote, USA Full-time Posted 2025-11-03

Why Revolution Prep? – Transforming Education from Anywhere

Revolution Prep is a fast‑growing, purpose‑driven education company that partners with high‑performing students, families, and schools across the United States to deliver world‑class tutoring, test‑preparation, and executive‑function coaching. Our mission is to “re‑engineer the learning experience” by combining data‑driven instruction with compassionate mentorship, helping students not only achieve top scores on AP exams but also develop lifelong skills such as time management, resilience, and strategic thinking.

Based in Los Angeles, California, Revolution Prep operates a wholly remote tutoring network that capitalizes on cutting‑edge technology, curated curriculum, and a vibrant community of educators. As a member of our workwarp talent family, you will be part of an organization that values flexibility, continuous learning, and the profound impact that one dedicated tutor can have on a student’s academic trajectory.

Position Overview – Full‑Time Remote Academic Tutor

We are urgently seeking passionate, self‑motivated educators to join our Full‑Time Remote Tutoring Team. In this role you will deliver live, one‑on‑one tutoring sessions to high‑school students (grades 9‑12) across a variety of subjects, with a particular emphasis on mathematics through Algebra II and advanced placement (AP) STEM courses. The role also incorporates executive‑function coaching, helping students build essential study habits, organization strategies, and confidence.

As a W‑2 employee (not a contractor), you will enjoy the stability of a salaried position, full benefits, paid training, and a predictable schedule—all while working from the comfort of your own home office.

Core Responsibilities – What Your Day Will Look Like

  • Live tutoring sessions (≈90% of time) – Conduct engaging, curriculum‑aligned lessons across math, physics, chemistry, and related STEM topics. Utilize interactive whiteboards, screen‑sharing, and real‑time problem solving to drive student comprehension.
  • Executive‑function coaching (≈90% of time) – Teach students goal‑setting, time‑blocking, note‑taking, and self‑assessment techniques that improve academic performance and reduce stress.
  • Progress communication (≈5% of time) – Provide concise, actionable feedback to students and their families via email or platform messaging, highlighting strengths, growth areas, and next steps.
  • Lesson preparation (≈5% of time) – Leverage Revolution Prep’s curated resource library to assemble session plans, practice problems, and supplemental materials. No independent curriculum creation required.
  • Professional development – Participate in 20 hours of paid onboarding training, followed by ongoing workshops, peer‑review sessions, and webinars to sharpen pedagogical skills.
  • Community participation – Engage with faculty leaders, join virtual “Coffee‑Chat” circles, and contribute to the supportive tutor network that shares best practices and celebrates student successes.

Essential Qualifications – The Minimum You Must Bring

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution (any discipline). A degree in Education, Mathematics, Physics, Engineering, or a related STEM field is strongly preferred.
  • U.S. citizenship or permanent residency with a reliable, legally authorized right to work in the United States.
  • Strong math foundation – Ability to confidently teach through Algebra II and, ideally, AP‑level content such as Calculus AB/BC, Physics 1 & 2, Chemistry, and Statistics.
  • High‑speed internet (minimum 25 Mbps download, 5 Mbps upload) and a quiet, professional workspace. We provide a technology kit (webcam, headset, ring light, green screen, annotation tablet) for anyone who needs it.
  • Availability – Minimum of 38 prime‑time hours per week, consistently posted and adhered to. Must include weekday evenings (3‑11 pm ET), and at least 8 hours of weekend availability, as detailed in the Schedule Requirements.
  • Professional demeanor – Clear communication, punctuality, and the ability to build rapport with teenage learners and their families.

Preferred Qualifications – The Extras That Set You Apart

  • Prior experience as a K‑12 teacher, private tutor, or learning coach.
  • Certification in teaching (e.g., State Teaching License, TEFL, or tutoring credential).
  • Experience with AP exam preparation, SAT/ACT tutoring, or College Board resources.
  • Knowledge of executive‑function frameworks (e.g., SOPA, CFAT, or other evidence‑based models).
  • Familiarity with virtual teaching platforms (Zoom, Google Meet, Microsoft Teams) and learning management systems (LMS) such as Canvas or Blackboard.
  • Fluency in a second language, especially Spanish, to support bilingual families.

Key Skills & Competencies – What Success Looks Like

  • Instructional design – Ability to adapt lesson plans on the fly to meet individual student needs.
  • Analytical thinking – Diagnose misconceptions quickly and provide clear, step‑by‑step explanations.
  • Empathy and patience – Understand the emotional landscape of high‑school learners and respond with encouragement.
  • Time management – Balance tutoring, prep, training, and scheduling responsibilities without missing deadlines.
  • Tech‑savvy – Comfortable navigating digital whiteboards, annotation tools, and troubleshooting minor technical glitches.
  • Collaboration – Share insights with peers, contribute to community forums, and seek mentorship from faculty leaders.

Work Schedule & Availability – Your Commitment

Full‑time tutors are expected to maintain a consistent schedule that aligns with students’ prime‑time learning windows. The ideal weekly cadence includes:

  • Monday‑Thursday: 3 pm – 11 pm ET (at least 22 hours total)
  • Friday: 3 pm – 7 pm ET (4 hours)
  • Weekend: Minimum 8 hours spread across Saturday and/or Sunday (e.g., 9 am – 7 pm ET Saturday, 9 am – 10 pm ET Sunday)

We aim to schedule 30 hours of direct tutoring per week, with flexibility for up to 35 hours based on student demand and tutor expertise. All tutors receive compensation for prep and training at $14 per hour (or the applicable local minimum wage, whichever is higher).

Compensation, Perks & Benefits – What We Offer

  • Competitive hourly wage: $25‑$28 per hour for active tutoring sessions.
  • Paid preparation and training: $14 per hour (or higher) for lesson planning, onboarding, and ongoing professional development.
  • Full W‑2 employment with payroll tax handling, unemployment insurance, and workers’ compensation.
  • Comprehensive benefits package (for eligible full‑time staff): health, dental, vision insurance; 401(k) retirement plan with employer match; paid time off (PTO) and holidays.
  • Technology stipend – Receive a high‑quality webcam, headset, ring light, green screen, and annotation tablet at no cost.
  • Career growth pathways – Opportunities to advance into Lead Tutor, Curriculum Specialist, Faculty Coach, or Remote Operations Manager roles.
  • Continuous learning – Access to internal webinars, external conferences, and a tuition‑reimbursement program for advanced certifications.
  • Community and camaraderie – Virtual social events, peer‑mentoring circles, and recognition programs that celebrate tutoring milestones.

Professional Development & Career Advancement

Revolution Prep invests heavily in its educators. After completing the 20‑hour paid onboarding program, you will have access to:

  • Monthly skill‑building workshops focused on advanced STEM content, instructional strategies, and executive‑function coaching.
  • Quarterly performance reviews that include personalized feedback, goal‑setting, and a clear roadmap for promotion.
  • Mentorship pairing with senior faculty leaders who guide you through curriculum nuances and student engagement best practices.
  • Opportunities to author micro‑learning modules, lead group study sessions, or design supplemental resources for the broader tutor community.

High‑performing tutors who consistently meet or exceed student outcomes are eligible for accelerated promotions to Lead Tutor or Curriculum Designer, roles that come with increased hourly rates, bonus structures, and leadership responsibilities.
