Job Overview

We are urgently seeking a Facilitator to lead and facilitate art, music, coding, career exploration, bridging the gap, character education, and Bible instruction for our youth programs. As a Facilitator, you will play a vital role in creating a safe, enjoyable, and inclusive environment that encourages program participants to explore new outlets for self-expression and skill development. Your expertise and passion for teaching will help shape the minds and characters of our young participants, and your ability to model honest, positive behaviors and practices will be essential in inspiring them to reach their full potential.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and facilitate instruction in a specific art genre, such as art, music, coding, career exploration, bridging the gap, character education, or Bible studies, that actively engages program participants in exploring new outlets for self-expression and skill development
  • Review and implement existing curriculum and lesson plans, and create new ones as needed, particularly for art and music instruction
  • Provide a safe and enjoyable environment for program participants to learn and have fun, while modeling honest, positive behaviors and practices
  • Collect data on program impact and evaluate the effectiveness of instruction
  • Instruct youth of grades K-5 and plan age-appropriate lessons for each age group
  • Work collaboratively with the Youth and Family Education team to achieve program goals and objectives
  • Adapt and change to meet the needs of the organization and the community, demonstrating flexibility and a willingness to learn and grow

Qualifications and Requirements

To be considered for this exciting opportunity, you must possess a minimum of 90 credits of higher education and 2-3 years of previous experience in teaching youth. You should be self-motivated, exhibit strong initiative and time management skills, and demonstrate good organizational and interpersonal skills. The ability to thrive in a collaborative team environment while also working independently is essential. Additionally, you must be knowledgeable about cultural flexibility, competent in working with multi-cultural participants, and experienced in working with inner-city and un-churched youth.

Essential Qualifications

  • Minimum of 90 credits of higher education
  • 2-3 years of previous experience in teaching youth
  • Self-motivated, with strong initiative and time management skills
  • Good organizational and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to thrive in a collaborative team environment and work independently

  • Valid driver's license
