About the Role: Strategy Associate

We are seeking an experienced and skilled Strategy Associate to join our Strategy, Analysis, and Finance (SAF) team. As a Strategy Associate, you will play a critical role in driving business growth and innovation through data-driven insights and strategic planning. You will work closely with YouTube leadership across the product, engineering, and business organizations to address challenges and opportunities across the company, help chart the long-term course for YouTube, and provide analysis and decision support to inform the planning and execution of the business.

Key Responsibilities

• Drive projects launched by the leadership at YouTube, applying critical thinking, analyzing data, and integrating recommendations on significant business decisions
• Collaborate with our leadership and work with colleagues across functions, including YouTube's Product, Business, Engineering, Operations, Marketing, and Outreach teams
• Develop, launch, and drive strategic workstreams, including creating hypotheses, designing project plans, leading research (including financial models), analyzing market/competitive trends, assessing business drivers, and tracking metrics
• Prepare presentations and communicate findings to YouTube's leadership and the broader organization
• Work with cross-functional teams to align on recommendations, financial and headcount investments, launch plans, and enable a transition to long-term owners
• Be a culture-carrier for the team, promoting a positive and inclusive work environment

Qualifications and Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need to have a strong and diverse skillset in relevant areas, including:

• A Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Mathematics, Physics, or Business Administration, or equivalent practical experience
• At least 2 years of experience in professional services (consulting, investment banking) or a corporate strategy role
• Preferred qualifications include experience communicating and influencing a range of audiences, including C-level executives, as well as experience in consumer web and media industries
• Experience with SQL and outstanding business judgment, financial modeling, spreadsheet programming, and presentation software skills are also preferred
• Demonstrated problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to drive projects forward and work effectively in a fast-paced environment
