About the position Responsibilities • Assist the dentist in providing dental care to prisoners. • Perform duties at dental clinics in other facilities as assigned. • Support the overall operations of the dental clinic. Requirements • High school diploma or equivalent education. • For Dental Aide 6: No specific type or amount of experience required. • For Dental Aide 7: One year of experience equivalent to a Dental Aide 6. • For Dental Aide E8: Two years of experience equivalent to a Dental Aide, including one year equivalent to a Dental Aide 7. • Completion of a one-year program in dental assistance may substitute for the experience requirement. • Possession of a radiography certification from a program approved by the Michigan Board of Dentistry. Nice-to-haves • Experience working in a correctional facility setting. • Knowledge of dental procedures and terminology.
