**Experienced Associate Counsel - Insurance Defense Litigation Specialist (Remote Work Opportunity)**

As an Associate Counsel in our Insurance Defense Litigation department, you'll play a critical role in defending lawsuits filed in New Jersey courts and other first-party insurance defense matters. About the Role

As an Associate Counsel, you'll be responsible for: * Researching laws and preparing legal briefs, opinions, and memoranda to support our defense strategies * Rendering opinions on liability, damages, and value as requested by the Claims Department * Preparing and handling pleadings, motions, and discovery, including depositions/examinations before trial and examinations under oath * Defending by trial or dispositive hearing, all matters assigned, as applicable * Collaborating with our Claims Department to ensure seamless communication and effective defense strategies * Maintaining accurate and up-to-date records of all cases, including documentation of files in a clear, concise, professional written manner

Qualifications and Requirements

To be successful in this role, you'll need: * A Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school * Admission to the New Jersey Bar * 2-6+ years of experience in litigation, with a focus on insurance defense and/or personal injury * Strong research and analytical skills, with the ability to quickly grasp complex legal concepts * Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate with clients, colleagues, and other stakeholders * Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks and meet deadlines * Ability to travel as required, including attending trials, hearings, depositions, management meetings, and conferences * Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion

Preferred Qualifications

While not required, the following qualifications are highly desirable: * Civil litigation experience, particularly in insurance defense-related litigation * Strong knowledge of New Jersey insurance laws and regulations * Experience working with claims adjusters and other stakeholders to develop effective defense strategies * Ability to communicate effectively in person, via telephone, and written correspondence/email

Compensation, Perks, and Benefits

As an Associate Counsel, you'll enjoy a competitive salary range of $116,000.00 - $182,000.00, depending on your experience and qualifications.
