About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Bookkeeper to join our team. This full-time position offers the flexibility to work from home or in our Battle Ground, Washington office, providing an ideal work-life balance for the right candidate. As a Bookkeeper at KORE, you will play a vital role in supporting the financial success of our clients, applying your expertise to manage their financial data, accounts receivable, accounts payable, and payroll across multiple states.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the financial data of 10-20 small businesses, ensuring accuracy and timeliness in financial reporting.
  • Oversee day-to-day accounts receivable, accounts payable, and payroll across multiple states, maintaining compliance with relevant regulations.
  • Prepare monthly and quarterly excise tax returns, ensuring accurate and timely submissions.
  • Generate monthly and quarterly financial statements, performing cost analysis and providing actionable insights to clients.
  • Oversee intercompany transactions and track subcontractors, ensuring seamless financial operations.
  • Conduct budgeting and cash flow forecasting, helping clients make informed financial decisions.
  • Perform job costing analysis and reporting, providing valuable insights to clients.
  • Communicate regularly with clients via phone or Zoom, ensuring clear understanding of financial matters.
  • Oversee and audit business insurance policies, ensuring compliance and optimal coverage.
  • Complete annual business license renewals, maintaining up-to-date compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Collaborate closely with a tax consultant to ensure accurate tax planning and preparation.

Essential Qualifications

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • A minimum of 3 years of bookkeeping or accounting experience, with a proven track record of success.
  • Experience in processing payroll from start to finish, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
  • Proficiency in QuickBooks accounting software, with the ability to adapt to new systems.
  • A strong understanding of accounting best practices, including debits/credits, AR, AP, account reconciliation, and cash flow.
  • Ability to work efficiently and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment, with strong problem-solving skills.
  • Commitment to maintaining the confidentiality of client information, with a professional and dependable work ethic.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel, with the ability to learn new software and systems.

Preferred Qualifications

  • A degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field, although not required.
  • Experience working with a variety of accounting software and systems.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with clients and colleagues.
