About the Role

We're seeking an experienced Customs Brokerage Representative to join our remote team. As a key member of our operations team, you'll play a vital role in ensuring seamless customs clearance processes for our clients. Job Summary

As a Customs Brokerage Representative, you'll be responsible for preparing customs entries, coordinating freight delivery, and resolving finance and accounting reconciliation issues. You'll work closely with international and domestic carriers, overseas offices, and importers to ensure timely and accurate customs clearance. Your exceptional communication skills, attention to detail, and ability to troubleshoot complex issues will make you an invaluable asset to our team.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare customs entries and forward freight to designated locations, including interface with international and domestic carriers, overseas offices, and importers.
  • Prepare customs entries and follow-up with the clearance process on all entries prepared.
  • Communicate documentation discrepancies to clients and supervisors.
  • Coordinate freight delivery to designated locations.
  • Resolve finance and accounting reconciliation exchange issues.
  • Scan entries into the imaging system, meeting allotted and sensitive time requirements.
  • Prepare reports/presentations and analysis using various software packages and databases.
  • Follow up on documentation discrepancy issues, requiring the ability to troubleshoot and communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, with customers and foreign origins.
  • Establish and maintain client relationships.
  • Work a weekend schedule on a department rotation basis and holiday schedule based on the needs of the operation and account requirements.

Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you'll need:
  • A high school diploma, GED, or international equivalent.
  • A minimum of 2 years' experience working for a customs broker.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  • A Customs Broker License (preferred).
  • Accurate and rapid data entry.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
