About Workwarp and the Chase Careers Initiative

At Workwarp, we are pioneers in shaping the future of digital transformation for financial services. Our partnership with Chase brings together world‑class banking expertise and cutting‑edge technology solutions. As a remote‑first organization, we empower our talent to work from anywhere while delivering high‑impact, cloud‑native platforms that serve millions of customers worldwide. Our culture is built on curiosity, collaboration, and relentless innovation—values that drive every line of code, architecture decision, and client interaction.

Joining the Chase Careers team means you’ll be at the forefront of building scalable, secure, and resilient cloud services that power the next generation of banking experiences. You’ll work alongside senior technologists, product owners, and business leaders who are committed to creating a smarter, faster, and more inclusive financial ecosystem.

Role Overview – What You’ll Do

As a Remote Senior Cloud Solutions Engineer, you will be responsible for the end‑to‑end design, development, testing, and operational support of complex solutions that form the backbone of Chase’s cloud services platform. You will serve as a technical beacon for both business and IT stakeholders, translating ambitious requirements into robust, production‑grade architectures. Your expertise will guide roadmap decisions, drive continuous improvement, and ensure that the platform remains resilient under the most demanding workloads.

Key Responsibilities

  • Solution Architecture: Design and document high‑level and detailed architectures for cloud‑native applications, micro‑services, and big‑data pipelines that align with enterprise standards and security policies.
  • Full‑Lifecycle Development: Lead the development of scalable services using Java, REST/SOAP APIs, JSON, and modern messaging frameworks; write high‑quality unit, integration, and performance tests (JUnit, Testcontainers, etc.).
  • Continuous Integration & Deployment: Implement and maintain CI/CD pipelines using Git, Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or similar, ensuring automated build, test, and release processes that meet compliance requirements.
  • Performance & Reliability Engineering: Conduct load testing, capacity planning, and fault‑injection exercises; develop caching strategies (Redis, Memcached) and monitoring dashboards to guarantee 99.99% availability.
  • Technical Guidance & Mentorship: Provide expert-level counsel to cross‑functional teams, including junior engineers, product managers, and operations staff; conduct code reviews and champion best practices.
  • Incident Management: Act as a senior responder for production incidents, leading root‑cause analysis, rapid remediation, and post‑mortem documentation to prevent recurrence.
  • Research & Innovation: Continuously evaluate emerging cloud technologies (Kubernetes, serverless, data lake architectures) and recommend strategic enhancements that deliver competitive advantage.
  • Compliance & Security: Ensure all solutions adhere to industry regulations (PCI‑DSS, GDPR, CCPA) and internal security standards, incorporating encryption, IAM, and audit logging.
  • Collaboration with Product Owners: Translate complex business requirements into technical specifications, creating clear backlog items, acceptance criteria, and delivery timelines.

Essential Qualifications – What We Require

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Information Technology, or a closely related discipline.
  • Professional Experience: Minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in software engineering, with at least 3 years in a senior or lead capacity working on large‑scale distributed systems.
  • Technical Proficiency: Demonstrated mastery of Java (Core, Spring, Spring Boot), RESTful and SOAP web services, JSON, and micro‑service architecture patterns.
  • Cloud & Big Data Expertise: Hands‑on experience designing and operating solutions on major cloud providers (AWS, Azure, GCP), including managed databases, data warehouses, and streaming platforms (Kafka, Kinesis).
  • DevOps & Automation Skills: Strong background with Git, CI/CD tools (Jenkins, GitHub Actions, CircleCI), containerization (Docker), and orchestration (Kubernetes, OpenShift).
  • Operating Systems: Proficient in Linux/UNIX environments, including scripting (Bash, Python) and system administration tasks.
  • Testing & Quality Assurance: Solid experience with unit testing (JUnit), integration testing, test‑driven development, and automated quality gates.
  • Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, capable of articulating technical concepts to non‑technical audiences.
  • Problem‑Solving Mindset: Ability to analyze complex problems, devise innovative solutions, and execute under tight deadlines.

Preferred Qualifications – Nice‑to‑Have Skills

  • Master’s degree or advanced certifications (AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Google Professional Cloud Architect, Certified Kubernetes Administrator).
  • Experience with big data frameworks such as Apache Spark, Hadoop, Flink, or Beam.
  • Familiarity with streaming analytics, event‑driven architectures, and real‑time data processing pipelines.
  • Knowledge of security frameworks and tools (OAuth2, OpenID Connect, Vault, Cloud IAM).
  • Background in financial services or fintech domains, with an understanding of regulatory compliance.
  • Demonstrated contributions to open‑source projects or technical communities.

Core Skills & Competencies – The DNA of Success

  • Analytical Thinking: Ability to dissect large data sets, identify patterns, and make data‑driven decisions.
  • Strategic Vision: Understand how individual services fit into a broader enterprise roadmap and influence long‑term business outcomes.
  • Leadership & Influence: Inspire confidence, foster collaborative environments, and mentor junior talent across remote locations.
  • Adaptability: Thrive in a fast‑moving, ambiguous environment where priorities shift based on market demands.
