The Music department supports Disney Channel and Disney+ productions as well as marketing/social efforts by providing music for series, promotions, and social marketing. The team oversees music related hires such as composers, music editors, and music supervisors. The music team also works with music legal to oversee all music related agreements. This role offers the opportunity to work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment while contributing to the musical elements that bring Disney’s iconic storytelling to life.Job Responsibilities
As a music intern at DBT, you will gain hands-on experience working within the music department, supporting a variety of music driven projects. Your responsibilities may include:- Reading scripts and create script music breakdowns
- Assisting with music clearances, licenses and rights management for TV series and original movies
- Supporting the music supervision team in creating and curating playlists for ongoing productions
- Helping to organize and manage music assets, including maintaining databases and cue sheets
- Participating in recording sessions providing logistical support
- Assisting in research for music trends, new artists and composers relevant to current and upcoming projects
- Providing administrative support to the music department
- Gaining exposure to the creative and business aspects of music production in television
Required Qualifications & Skills
To be successful in this role, you will need to possess the following qualifications and skills:- Familiarity with music streaming service(s) such as Spotify, Apple Music, or similar program
- Familiarity with and/or experience using box.com or similar content management tool
- Experience with using Microsoft Word and Excel
- High attention to detail and experience multitasking in a fast-paced environment
Preferred Qualifications
While not required, the following qualifications and skills are preferred:- Previous experience (academic or internship) in television or music production
- Major or previous coursework in Music Production or related field
Eligibility Requirements & Internship Information
To be eligible for this internship, you must meet the following requirements:- Be at least 18 years of age
- Have not completed one year of continual employment on a Disney internship or program
- Possess unrestricted work authorization
- Able to have a consistent, reliable work schedule throughout the internship
- Fully available to work 20 hours per week during a Monday through Friday schedule
- Able to provide own housing for the duration internship program in the Burbank, California area
- Able to provide/have reliable transportation to/from work
