This is a remote position located in AZ, NM or NV. Objective And Position Summary The Paralegal-Transactions is responsible for assisting the Legal Department in all phases of legal transactions, including contracts, grant agreements, financial transactions, real estate transactions, mergers and acquisitions, litigation support, and more. The Paralegal-Transactions is a cross-functional position and will maintain general responsibilities in contract management, mergers, acquisitions, and transactions, litigation, maintenance of the Legal Department systems, and support to the Legal Department attorneys and staff in all areas as needs arise. Paralegal Transactions will ensure an exceptional level of client service is provided at all times and will work with minimum supervision in performing the day-to-day work responsibilities. The Paralegal Transactions will partner with their peers in providing legal services to our internal clients - the employees at Chicanos Por La Causa who empower lives through five pillars of service: Integrated Health & Human Service, Education & Social Services, Economic Development, Housing and Advocacy. Paralegal Transactions is responsible for assisting to ensure that the services CPLC provides follow all federal, state, local laws and regulations, certifications, licensing and funding requirements. SPECIALIZATIONS • Sound judgment, a commitment to compliance and confidentiality, superior written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills and attention to detail are essential functions of this position. • Paralegal Transactions must possess a high ethical standard, integrity, a strong professional work ethic, loyalty and the ability to work in a team-oriented environment. • This position requires regular communication orally and in writing with internal and external legal staff in face-to-face and video one-on-one settings, group settings, by telephone and by e-mail or regular correspondence. Inimum Qualifications And Competencies Education/Background: • Associate’s degree and/or paralegal certificate required. • Three to five (3-5) years of experience as a paralegal working in a legal environment with two to four (2-4) years of experience as paralegal working on contracts, real estate transactions, and/or mergers and acquisitions. • Alternative combinations of education and experience may be considered to meet the qualifications of this role. • Experience managing a high volume of work and complex legal matters. • Excellent oral and written communication. • Demonstrated diplomacy and ability to offer dissenting points of view in consistently constructive and positive ways. • Ability to generate respect and trust from staff while fostering cross-functional collaboration and a strong sense of teamwork.
