Under the direction of a licensed teacher and/or administrator, you will be responsible for monitoring and presenting skills with small groups of students or one-on-one, supporting students with disabilities by following educational and specific behavioral plans, modeling appropriate behaviors and interactions with students and staff, and assisting students with special health care needs. You may also be responsible for presenting lessons, preparing instructional materials, monitoring students in various non-classroom settings, and assisting in the administration of tests. **Key Responsibilities** * Monitor and present skills with small groups of students or one-on-one * Support students with disabilities by following educational and specific behavioral plans * Model appropriate behaviors and interactions with students and staff * Assist students with special health care needs * Present lessons and prepare instructional materials * Monitor students in various non-classroom settings * Assist in the administration of tests * Collaborate with teachers and other support staff to develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) * Communicate effectively with parents and guardians to ensure a smooth transition of student services * Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of student progress and behavior **Essential Qualifications** * Valid Illinois Educator License with Stipulations (Paraprofessional or Professional Educator License or Substitute Teacher License) * Ability to follow verbal and written instructions * Effective interpersonal skills * Specific knowledge-based competencies required to satisfactorily perform the functions of the job * Ability to use basic job-related equipment * Experience working with children preferred * Ability to work well with students and staff * Ability to regularly lift and/or move up to 30 pounds **Preferred Qualifications** * Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education, Special Education, or a related field * Experience working with students with disabilities * Knowledge of child development principles and practices * Familiarity with educational technology and software * Bilingual or multilingual skills **Skills and Competencies** * Strong communication and interpersonal skills * Ability to work effectively in a team environment * Strong organizational and time management skills * Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information * Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills * Ability to adapt to changing situations and priorities * Strong attention to detail and accuracy **Career Growth Opportunities and Learning Benefits** As a member of our team, you will have access to a range of career growth opportunities and learning benefits, including: * Professional development and training programs * Mentorship and coaching from experienced educators * Opportunities for advancement and career progression * Collaborative and supportive work environment * Access to educational resources and technology * Opportunities for professional networking and community engagement **Work Environment and Company Culture** Our school district is committed to creating a safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environment that promotes academic excellence, social growth, and emotional well-being.
