About the Role: Customer Service Agent As a Customer Service Agent, you'll be the first point of contact for many of our customers, setting the tone for their travel experience. Your role is multifaceted, involving a range of responsibilities that require a unique blend of skills, patience, and a customer-centric approach. Here's what you'll be doing: • Providing friendly and courteous service to both internal and external customers, ensuring positive interactions and resolving issues efficiently. • Working collaboratively as part of a team to guarantee the success of our organization and deliver exceptional customer service. • Managing various aspects of customer service, including check-in, baggage handling, reservations, and addressing customer complaints. • Handling financial transactions, processing payments, and balancing daily transactions. • Checking in baggage and freight, answering phone inquiries, and resolving customer issues. • Coordinating the loading of aircraft in a timely and efficient manner. • Resolving issues related to flight oversales, delays, or cancellations, and addressing customer concerns in a professional and empathetic manner. • Providing accurate and up-to-date information to customers regarding flight schedules, reservations, and other travel-related inquiries. • Completing forms and reports as required, and writing discrepancy and complaint reports when necessary. Essential Qualifications and Skills To succeed as a Customer Service Agent with Southwest Airlines, you'll need: • A Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution. • The ability to type or use a computer keyboard with sufficient speed to meet the demands of the role. • Strong reading comprehension skills, with the ability to follow instructions and understand policies and procedures. • Excellent teamwork and communication skills, with the ability to work under stressful conditions. • The capacity to complete our Customer Support Specialist training program with an average score of 80% or higher. • Awareness of hazardous situations and the ability to handle emergencies effectively. • The ability to work under tight time constraints, maintaining a well-groomed appearance in accordance with our Ground Operations Employee Handbook and Work Agreement. • Effective verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey information clearly and concisely. Preferred Qualifications While not mandatory, previous customer service experience, especially in the aviation industry, is highly desirable.
