About Marvell – Pioneering the Infrastructure That Powers the World

Marvell is a global leader in semiconductor solutions, enabling the data infrastructure that drives everything from cloud‑scale data centers to connected vehicles. For more than 25 years, we have helped the world’s most innovative companies move, store, process, and secure massive volumes of data. Our mission is simple yet ambitious: to power progress by delivering breakthrough technology that is reliable, secure, and ready for the future. If you thrive in an environment where collaboration fuels invention, where your expertise shapes the next generation of networking hardware, and where every day you see the tangible impact of your work on the global economy, Marvell is the place where you can truly make a difference.

Why This Role Is a Game‑Changer

As a Principal Product Engineer – Networking & Connectivity, you will be recognized as a technical authority within the NPI (New Product Introduction) ecosystem. You will guide cross‑functional teams, mentor emerging talent, and own the end‑to‑end product lifecycle—from concept and design to manufacturing and post‑launch support. This is more than a job; it is a strategic leadership position that directly influences product profitability, time‑to‑market, and long‑term customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities – What You’ll Own and Deliver

Strategic Product Leadership

  • Define and execute product roadmaps that align with market demands, cost‑efficiency goals, and Marvell’s long‑term vision.
  • Lead high‑complexity NPI projects through the entire NPI‑to‑MPR (Mass Production Release) cycle, ensuring on‑time delivery and robust ROI.
  • Act as the primary technical liaison between engineering, operations, quality, and global customer teams, translating requirements into actionable design specifications.
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation, including product specifications, design verifications, and compliance reports.

Technical Excellence & Innovation

  • Perform advanced Automated Test Equipment (ATE) analysis, Design of Experiments (DoE), and debug activities to validate performance, reliability, and manufacturability.
  • Lead root‑cause analysis (RCA) initiatives, applying SPC, SQC, and DPPM methodologies to drive continuous improvement.
  • Drive automation of data collection and analysis workflows, leveraging tools such as JMP, SiliconDash, and custom scripting solutions.
  • Mentor junior engineers, sharing domain expertise in networking ASICs, high‑speed interfaces, and connectivity protocols.

Customer & Operational Excellence

  • Provide Tier‑1 customer RMA support, delivering rapid fault isolation and resolution to maintain high satisfaction scores.
  • Coordinate global NPI IC test activities, ensuring alignment across regional test floors and external partners.
  • Publish regular engineering reports, health dashboards, and status updates that keep stakeholders informed and aligned.
  • Champion strategic planning and prioritization, balancing short‑term deliverables with long‑term technology roadmaps.

Essential Qualifications – The Foundations You Bring

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related discipline (10 + years experience) or Master’s degree (5 + years experience) in a comparable field.
  • Proven experience in the semiconductor industry, specifically within SEMI/IC environments, with a strong focus on networking and connectivity products.
  • Deep expertise in NPI processes, including MPR readiness, cost‑of‑ownership analysis, and high‑volume manufacturing considerations.
  • Hands‑on experience with ATE platforms (e.g., Agilent 93K), DoE planning, and statistical quality control techniques (SPC, SQC, DPPM).
  • Demonstrated success leading complex, cross‑functional projects from concept through production release.

Preferred Qualifications – What Sets You Apart

  • Experience with Project Success Method (PSM) driven planning and execution.
  • Prior work with automotive‑grade NPI data analytics tools, and familiarity with safety‑critical standards (e.g., ISO‑26262).
  • Proficiency in scripting languages (Python, Tcl) for test automation and data mining.
  • Track record of publishing technical papers or patents in networking ASIC design.
  • Strong business acumen: ability to translate technical trade‑offs into financial impact and market positioning.

Core Skills & Competencies – The Engine of Your Success

  • Analytical Thinking: Ability to dissect complex problems, apply statistical methods, and derive actionable insights.
  • Leadership & Mentorship: Experience guiding junior engineers, fostering a collaborative culture, and driving consensus.
  • Communication Excellence: Clear, persuasive verbal and written communication for proposal defense, high‑level summarization, and stakeholder alignment.
  • Strategic Planning: Skilled at prioritizing initiatives, managing resources, and aligning product development with business objectives.
  • Technical Breadth: Solid grounding in high‑speed digital design, signal integrity, power management, and system‑level integration.

Compensation, Benefits, & Perks – Investing in You

Marvell offers a competitive total‑compensation package that includes:

  • A base salary ranging from $124,240 to $186,100 per year, calibrated to experience, expertise, and market conditions.
  • Performance‑based annual bonus opportunities tied to individual, team, and company goals.
  • Equity awards (stock options or RSUs) to share in Marvell’s long‑term growth.
  • Comprehensive health coverage (medical, dental, vision) with flexible spending accounts and opt‑out credits.
  • Retirement savings plan (401 k) with generous company match across pre‑tax, Roth, and after‑tax contributions.
  • Employee Stock Purchase Program (ESPP) allowing discounted purchase of Marvell shares.
  • Wellness initiatives, including mental‑health coaching, therapy resources, and fitness subsidies.
  • Family support programs such as backup childcare, tutoring assistance, and SNOO infant‑care rentals.
  • Generous paid time off (vacation, holidays, volunteer days, sick leave, family care leave, bonding leave).
  • Hybrid work model with a blend of remote flexibility and on‑site collaboration at our Santa Clara and Fremont facilities.
