As a Data Engineering Manager at Xbox Games Studios Quality, you will be part of an agile team tackling various challenges throughout the game development process. Your primary responsibility will be to work closely with Data Scientists, Applied Researchers, and Quality Specialists to find innovative ways to incorporate data arrangements into the pipeline. Key Responsibilities

In this critical role, your duties will include but are not limited to:

  • Building and Mentoring: You will assist in building code to extract raw data, mentor the team on methods to validate its quality, and apply your deep knowledge to ensure the right data is ingested across the pipeline.
  • Tool Development: Directing the development of data tools used to transform, manage, and access data, and advising the team on writing and validating code to test the capability and availability of data platforms.
  • Performance Monitoring: Leading the implementation of performance monitoring protocols across data pipelines, teaching the team how to build observations and aggregations to monitor pipeline health, and mentoring others on implementing solutions and self-healing processes.
  • Data Management: Helping identify data management needs, overseeing the design of data modeling and handling strategies to ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and policies, and managing data accessibility within allocated pipelines.
  • Collaboration and Strategy: Preparing colleagues for meetings with appropriate stakeholders across teams, addressing concerns around data requirements, and helping assess data costs, access, usage, use cases, and conditions across products.

Essential Qualifications

To be considered for this role, you should possess:

  • A Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
  • 3+ years of experience in business analysis, data science, software development, data modeling, or data engineering work.
  • Alternatively, a Master's Degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Engineering, or a related field with 6+ years of relevant experience.
  • 3+ years of people management experience.
  • Experience with AI frameworks like PyTorch.
  • Experience in designing, building, and maintaining AI infrastructure and implementing automated ML workflows.

Preferred Qualifications

While not mandatory, the following qualifications are highly desirable:

  • Advanced degrees or certifications in relevant fields.
  • Experience working in the gaming industry or with similar data-intensive projects.
  • Knowledge of cloud computing platforms and their applications in data engineering.
  • Strong understanding of data privacy and security principles.
